Two seniors will also receive the Community Impact Achievement, a recognition for undergraduate and graduate students with outstanding records of civic engagement who complete a portion of the Engaged Citizen Program’s medal requirements.

Collectively, the Fall 2025 graduates have earned 35 service-learning credit hours and have volunteered approximately 460 hours across their local communities during their academic tenure at LSU. Some of this cohort’s volunteer opportunities include working with campus entities such as the LSU Food Pantry and the LSU Community Playground Project.

Their individual engagement efforts also extend off-campus with organizations such as Volunteers in Public Schools, the Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, O'Brien House, and Our Lady of the Lake's Hogs the Cause.

“Our team is so excited to see these five students earn the Engaged Citizen Medal and Community Impact Achievement for their community-engaged work," CCELL Director Dr. Sarah Becker said. "We cannot wait to see what they do next."

CCELL and LSU Campus Life established the Engaged Citizen Program to support and recognize students who engage significantly with their communities to address critical community needs. Any undergraduate or graduate student can apply to be a part of the program.

“Each of these students has demonstrated a deep commitment to service and a genuine desire to strengthen their communities. Their work reflects the very best of LSU, and I’m excited to see how they will continue shaping positive change as engaged citizens and future alumni,” said Josh Finch, Director of Campus Life.

Our seniors represent three senior colleges, and one is a member of the Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College.
