KJ O'Neal
Coordinator, Intramural Sports and Camps

I work in Intramural Sports & Camps because sports have shaped who I am. They’ve taught me how to lead, how to fail, and how to bounce back stronger each time. From early mornings on the field to late nights in the gym, I’ve learned that the lessons from sports go far beyond the scoreboard. Now, I get to pass those lessons on to helping others grow their skills, challenge themselves in new ways, build connections, and find pure joy in the game.

What Drives Me
I’m passionate about mental health. Breaking the stigma, promoting open conversations, and making sure people know it’s okay to ask for help and take care of themselves.
Words I Live By
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is from Dory in Finding Nemo: "Just keep swimming." It’s a simple reminder to stay positive, keep moving forward, and trust that persistence will get you through any challenge.
In Another Life
If I didn’t have this job, I’d be working in architecture and construction management. Bringing ideas to life, solving problems on the fly, and making sure every project is built to last.
