Accreditation and Assessment
Louisiana State University and A&M College
is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master's, educational specialist, and doctoral degrees. Louisiana State University and A&M College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
The School of Kinesiology
The School of Kinesiology engages in a continuous cycle of assessment to evaluate progress toward achieving the goals of our strategic plan and to guide efforts to improve our programs. We assess student learning outcomes, faculty productivity, development of resources, and engagement in the community.
Sport Administration/Management
The Sport Administration/Management degree programs at LSU have received specialized accreditation through the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) located in Fort Collins, Colorado. The following degrees are accredited by COSMA: Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration, Master of Science in Sport Management, and Doctor of Philosophy in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport Management.
Athletic Training
The MS in Athletic Training is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
Health and Physical Education
The K-12 Health and Physical Education concentration within the BS in Kinesiology is nationally recognized by SHAPE America (Society of Health and Physical Educators) and as a Specialized Professional Association of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.
