Administrative Structure
The Shared Instrumentation Facility (SIF) is managed by the LSU Office of Research & Economic Development (ORED). The SIF Director, Dr. Dongmei Cao, is responsible for SIF daily operations. Financial oversight is provided by the ORED Director of Research Engagement, Julie Perkins.
The SIF Executive Committee (SEC) is composed of Dr. Cynthia Peterson the Dean of College of Science (CoS), Dr. Judy Wornat the Dean of College of Engineering (CoE), and Dr. Joel Baines the Dean of School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM). This committee, in cooperation with ORED, is responsible for overall oversight of SIF operations and financing.
The SIF Advisory Council (SAC) is composed of six faculty members - two members each from the CoS, the CoE, and the SVM. These members serve on a rotating two and three-year basis and provide scientific oversight and faculty feedback regarding all SIF operations.
